Tragedy struck in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, as two young men in their twenties were discovered dead under mysterious circumstances in a one-room apartment. Their remains have been deposited at a morgue, while investigations are ongoing.
Residents in the area linked the deaths to possible inhalation of fumes from a generator placed on the veranda of the apartment. According to neighbors, one of the deceased had recently rented the apartment on January 1st and had moved in with three friends.
Concern arose among neighbors after a foul odor began emanating from the apartment. Despite repeated knocks on the door, there was no response, prompting the neighbors to alert the police.
Upon forcing the door open, the police found two lifeless bodies inside. Two other occupants of the room, who were discovered in a weak state, were immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment.
As of the time of this report, the Delta State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement on the incident. Further details are expected as investigations unfold.
