Bishop Shina Olaribigbe, the founder of Rapture Empowerment International in Osogbo, Osun State, tragically lost his life early Thursday morning while attempting to mediate a domestic dispute between a couple associated with his church.
The couple, though not legally separated, had a history of frequent conflicts and were living apart.
The wife, an interpreter at the church, had been ill, prompting Bishop Olaribigbe, known for his efforts in resolving their disputes, to visit her.
The husband’s unexpected arrival at the residence ignited a heated argument.
Fueled by suspicion of an affair between his wife and the bishop, the husband allegedly attacked him with a knife, resulting in the bishop’s death.
“A heated argument ensued, and in a fit of anger, the man took a knife and stabbed the pastor in the chest. Olaribigbe died on the spot,” a source close to the church revealed.
Following the tragic incident, both the husband and wife were arrested and taken into custody by the Osun State Police Command.
