Nigerians planning to visit Thailand can now apply for visas online. The Royal Thai Embassy in Abuja announced that starting January 1, physical applications will no longer be accepted.
This new policy also applies to citizens of Ghana, Cameroon, Benin Republic, Central African Republic, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Chad.
In a statement, the embassy emphasized that applicants must reside in one of the listed countries when applying for the visa. It also reserves the right to cancel applications if evidence of residency within these countries is not provided.
“Travel booking confirmation must be provided upon submission of your visa application. This includes return flight details showing applicant’s name, departure and return date, all flights en route from the aforementioned countries to Thailand,” the embassy stated.
It added that visa processing typically takes five working days but may take longer in some cases.
Intending travelers are advised to submit applications at least 4-6 weeks before their departure date, but not more than three months in advance.
All applications must be completed online through the website www.thaievisa.go.th.
