Married Woman Dies in 65-Year-Old Man’s Apartment in Ogun State

A 65-year-old man, Olalekan Ogunjobi, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command in connection with the death of a woman found in his apartment.

Reports indicate that the woman, identified as Serifatu Disu, had left her husband’s house to visit Ogunjobi at his residence in Fatima Castle, Konigba, situated in the Ago-Iwoye area of the state.

While the exact nature of the relationship between Ogunjobi and Disu remains unclear, the Ogun State Police Command confirmed the incident on Thursday. According to the police, the 60-year-old woman complained of chest pain around 12:40 a.m. on Wednesday and collapsed shortly after stepping out of Ogunjobi’s room.

Despite his efforts to administer first aid, Disu reportedly lost consciousness and passed away a short while later.

The command’s spokesperson, Chief Superintendent of Police Omolola Odutola, revealed that the Divisional Police Officer of Ago-Iwoye was contacted and arrived promptly at the scene.

“Olalekan Ogunjobi, a 65-year-old resident of Fatimoh Castle, Konigba, Ago-Iwoye, stated that Serifatu Disu, a 60-year-old woman and a friend of his, left her husband’s home to visit him late at night.

“Around 12:40 a.m., she began complaining of chest pain. Shortly after stepping outside, she collapsed and lost consciousness.

“Despite efforts to revive her, they were unsuccessful. The Crime Branch of the Ago-Iwoye Division has launched a preliminary investigation, and Olalekan has been taken into custody for further questioning.”

Odutola further confirmed that Disu’s body had been removed and taken to the Ijebu-Ode General Hospital Mortuary for an autopsy.

“We have visited the scene, and the body has been taken to the General Hospital in Ijebu Ode, where it will be moved to the mortuary for an autopsy. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available,” Odutola added.

This incident follows a similar case that occurred on December 3 when 22-year-old Joseph Prince was detained after his girlfriend, Agala Peace, also 22, died under mysterious circumstances in the Ota area of Ogun State.

Prince had been transporting his girlfriend to the hospital on Tuesday when she reportedly passed away.

The police are investigating both cases to determine the causes of the deaths and whether any foul play was involved. Authorities have urged residents to report suspicious activities promptly to prevent avoidable tragedies.

As the investigations continue, the Ogun State Police Command reiterated its commitment to uncovering the truth and ensuring that justice is served in both cases. The community remains on edge, awaiting the results of the autopsy and further updates from law enforcement officials.
