By 8:00 a.m., senators and members of the House of Representatives had begun arriving at the Green Chamber, where the joint session is scheduled to take place under tight security arrangements.
The presentation follows the Federal Executive Council’s (FEC) approval on Monday of an estimated expenditure of ₦47.96 trillion for the 2025 fiscal year. The budget proposal, which represents Tinubu’s commitment to sustaining economic reforms and fiscal responsibility, is eagerly anticipated by lawmakers, policy analysts, and citizens alike.
In preparation for the event, the National Assembly management implemented stringent measures to ensure a smooth and secure session. Security reinforcements from multiple agencies were deployed across the complex, while all business operations within the premises, including banks, food vendors, and other ancillary services, were ordered to shut down for the day.

The joint session will be presided over by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, alongside Speaker of the House of Representatives Abbas Tajudeen.
