Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has launched the Benue State Civil Protection Guards (BSCPG), a security outfit established by law to combat criminality and ensure the safety of residents. The launch, which took place at the IBB Square in Makurdi, saw the deployment of 5,000 gallant officers, code-named “Anyam Nyor,” as well as the donation of 100 Hilux vehicles and 600 special combatant motorcycles to security agencies in the state.
Governor Alia assured the people of Benue that his administration is committed to ensuring their safety and creating an environment where they can thrive without fear. He emphasized that security remains his top priority, stating, “We cannot build a prosperous state upon insecurity.”
The governor also appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support, as well as the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and the state security team for their cooperation and encouragement.
The launch of the BSCPG is a significant step towards addressing the security challenges facing Benue State. The governor has called on all well-meaning Benue sons and daughters to come together and support his administration in moving the state forward.
