Benue PDP Urged to Reflect on Past, Acknowledge Positive Changes

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State has been accused of being disconnected from the reality of governance under Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia. The PDP’s recent statements have been described as misguided, devoid of substance, and lacking factual accuracy.

According to the Benue State Government, the PDP lacks a clear understanding of democratic principles, as evident in their lack of ideas during their time in power. In contrast, the current administration has prioritized the welfare of the people through food security, infrastructure development, and employment opportunities for youth.

The government pointed out that the PDP is unhappy with the progress made in the state, including the resuscitation of comatose establishments like the Benue State University Teaching Hospital. The hospital has been transformed into a booming tourism center generating revenue for the state.

Additionally, the government highlighted its achievements in fiscal transparency, rising to 9th place in the fiscal transparency league for 2024. This is a significant improvement from the 36th position during the PDP’s reign.

The government urged the PDP to reflect on its past and acknowledge the positive changes taking place in Benue State. The administration remains committed to genuine progress and development, as evident in its projects and policies.
