Nigerian music powerhouse Yemi Alade has achieved a career milestone with her first solo Grammy nomination in the Best African Music Performance category for her inspiring hit, “Tomorrow.”
Speaking with CNN’s Larry Madowo at the 15th-anniversary event of CNN’s African Voices in Lagos, Alade described the recognition as surreal:
“It feels like a miracle has happened in my life. I almost thought this moment might never come. It’s a good time to be alive.”
Reflecting on the honor, Alade emphasized how it reinforces the value of persistence:
“It gave me reassurance that anyone out there can achieve anything. You just have to believe and never stop—no matter the challenges.”
