The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has dealt a significant blow to drug trafficking in Nigeria with the arrest of a 58-year-old Chinese man, Tianzhen Yen, alias Jackie. Yen, a notorious drug syndicate leader, was apprehended in a hotel behind Alade market, Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos.
According to Femi Babafemi, NDLEA’s spokesman, Yen was arrested with 4.3 grams of cocaine, a gram of methamphetamine, two electronic weighing scales, and a Chinese National Identification Number Card. The arrest was made possible by a swift follow-up operation that traced Yen’s location following the interception of 750 grams of cocaine from a 40-year-old suspect, Yakubu Emmanuel Mark, at the Gbaji checkpoint along Badagry-Seme expressway.
