Why Wizkid’s Morayo Album Is a 3.5/10 — Daniel Regha

Music critic Daniel Regha has given Wizkid’s Morayo album a lukewarm rating, calling it a “quantity over quality” project. According to Regha, the album’s 16 tracks feel repetitive, with many songs seemingly tailored for TikTok rather than showcasing artistic depth.

He praised “Pray” and “Kese (Dance)” for their refreshing vibe but criticized tracks like “Bend” for lacking originality.

Regha also described the collaboration with Asake on “Bad Girl” as a missed opportunity, noting it failed to showcase either artist’s potential.

Surprisingly, Regha pointed out that no song was explicitly dedicated to Wizkid’s late mother, Jane Morayo Balogun, despite the album’s title. While he acknowledged the production quality and experimentation with new sounds, Regha suggested the project would have been better suited as a shorter EP. Rating the album 3.5/10, he concluded that Wizkid may need fresh musical inspiration for future projects.

He wrote:
Why Wizkid's Morayo Album Is a 3.5/10 -- Daniel Regha

“Morayo” by Wizkid is a quantity over quality album, literally two songs divided into subparts. It might be a commercial success due to hype, but unf@rtunately it’s n@t the album of the year people hope it will be. A lot of songs sound repetitive, with lyrics showing that it was produced with just Tiktok in mind as there’s n@ spark, the track “Bend” is proves this. Now asides “Pray, and Kese (Dance)” which are a little refreshing, most tracks sound like songs that didn’t make it to his previous projects.

“Bad Girl” ft Asake was also a w@ste of collaboration as neither of the artistes did anything meaningful despite their talent. It’s also surprising that no song was dedicated to his beloved mom. Frankly speaking, Wizkid needs new musical ideas.”

“The album is a 3.5/10 mainly due to the beats, & the experimentation of new sounds. It would’ve been best if this was an EP with 4-5 songs. No offense.”
