American rapper, Curtis James Jackson III, known as 50 Cent, revealed that he declined a $3 million offer to perform at Donald Trump’s rally in New York.
Although he has previously voiced admiration for Trump, the rapper shared on The Breakfast Club that he “got a call” inviting him to perform his song “Many Men (Wish Death)” at the Republican national convention for a similar amount.
“I didn’t talk to them about that kinda stuff. I’m afraid about politics,” he stated. The 2003 track, inspired by his near-fatal shooting in 2000, has recently gained popularity among Trump supporters and climbed into the top 10 on iTunes.
“He says ‘fight’,” Jackson commented about Trump last month. “All right. And that’s exactly what I did after I got shot. I just went into fight mode. People identify with it that way.”
Earlier this year, he also noted on social media, “I think Trump’s gonna be president again, but I’m not going to say that.”
Trump’s rally, hosted at Madison Square Garden, faced backlash following comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s racially charged jokes.
After Hinchcliffe’s comments regarding Puerto Rico, celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Bad Bunny publicly endorsed Kamala Harris in her presidential campaign.
