GOV. ALIA TO EXTEND BIPC BREAD FACTORY TO GBOKO 

 

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, on Sunday, October 27, 2024, directed the Managing Director of Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC), Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, to immediately commence arrangement for the establishment of the company’s bread factory in Makurdi, to Gboko local Government area of the state.

 

Governor Alia gave this directive while speaking at a Thanksgiving Mass in honour of the State’s Accountant General, Mrs Theresa Nyitse, following a land donation to the State Government by an indigene of the local government, who appealed to the Governor to extend the bread factory to the headquarters of Tiv Nation.

 

The two subsidiaries, BIPC Bakery and a Water Factory, were launched on Monday, May 27, 2024, as a demonstration of the Governor’s drive of economic growth and development in the State, as part of activities marking his one year in office.

 

It must be emphasised that the monthly sales of the bread produced and supplied to Benue people, and beyond, is between N120million, and N150million, according to the Managing Director of BIPC.

 

Governor Alia also directed the Commissioner for Rural Development and Cooperative, to release a 35KVA Transformer to the Catholic community of St. Brendan’s Catholic Rectory, Ande, Gboko, who have been in total black out, before he became the Governor of the State, believing that when the transformer is installed, the community would light up with many economic activities.

 

He also donated N10million to the Church on behalf of the State Government as contribution for the building of the church for the various projects that they have embarked upon.

 

The Governor, who pledged his commitment to the welfare of Benue people across party lines, called on them to remain supportive to his administration for more dividends of democracy to flow to their doorsteps.

 

In her remarks, the Accountant General, Mrs Theresa Nyitse, thanked the Governor for finding her worthy among the most qualified indigenes of the State to be appointed, and pledged to uphold to the tenets of her profession in the interest of God, and the Governor, who represents the yearnings of the masses.

 

Preaching earlier, Rev. Fr. Dominic Asor ,said God is merciful and has the powers to turn around all kinds of impossible situations in favour of christians, whom he urged needs to master having faith and hope in God limitlessly.

 

Fr. Asor called on the Accountant General to be diligent and vigilant of her duties bearing in mind that she must not fail God, the Governor, and Benue people.

 

On the Governor’s entourage to attend the Thanksgiving Mass were; the Speaker, Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aondona Dajoh and Assembly members, State APC Working Committee Chairman, Hon. Benjamin Omale, House of Representatives Member for Katsina Ala/Ukum/Logo Federal Constituency, Hon. Solomon Wombo, the State Executive Council Members, the Director General, Government House Administration, Special Advisers, DGs/MDs of Agencies and Parastatals, State ALGON Chairman, Hon. Maurice Orwough, and other top Government functionaries, respectively.
