PDP Reschedules National Executive Committee Meeting to November 28

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, originally scheduled for October 24, to November 28. This decision was announced by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, following an expanded meeting of party leaders in Abuja.

The postponement aims to allow the PDP to focus on the upcoming Ondo State governorship election, set for November 16, 2024. The party seeks to unseat the incumbent All Progressives Congress (APC) government in Ondo with unity and strength.

Key Reasons for Postponement

– To ensure unity and strength in the Ondo State governorship election

– To consolidate the party’s position as the main opposition ahead of the 2027 general elections

– To avoid divisive rhetoric and promote unity among party members

The meeting in Abuja was attended by key PDP figures, including members of the Board of Trustees (BoT), the National Working Committee (NWC), the National Assembly Caucus, and the Forum of Former Governors.
