Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has terminated several employees for misusing the company’s free meal voucher program. According to sources, the affected staff used the vouchers to purchase household items instead of meals.
Meta’s internal investigation revealed that some employees took advantage of the benefit, intended to provide meals for employees during work hours, to buy personal items. The company’s strict policies prohibit using benefits for personal gain.
“We take allegations of misuse seriously and have taken appropriate action,” a Meta spokesperson stated. “Our benefits are designed to support employees’ well-being, not personal shopping sprees.”
Affected employees received severance packages and are no longer with the company.
This move demonstrates Meta’s commitment to maintaining a culture of integrity and accountability.
