Edo State Government Congratulates Newly Elected Governor and DeputyThe Edo State government has congratulated Senator Monday Okpebholo and his Deputy, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, on their recent electoral victory .During the Edo South APC victory rally in Benin City, Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Phillip Shaibu expressed gratitude to the people of Edo for their overwhelming support in the September 21 gubernatorial election.
Shaibu highlighted the significance of this victory, stating it demonstrates the citizens’ confidence in Okpebholo and Idahosa’s leadership capabilities. Emphasizing unity and collaboration, he urged the people to come together in support of the new administration, which is committed to addressing the needs and aspirations of all Edo citizens.
Notably, Okpebholo polled 291,667 votes to secure his position, beating his closest opponent, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) . This development marks a new chapter for Edo State, with the incoming administration expected to build on the progress made by the outgoing government, led by Governor Godwin Obaseki.
