Edo State Governor-elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo, reassured residents that his administration will swiftly fulfill campaign promises. During his “Thank You” tour of Edo Central and North senatorial districts, Okpebholo expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support received during the September 21, 2024, governorship election.
“The reason I am here is not just to thank you for your overwhelming support but to reassure you that all we promised during the campaigns will be delivered speedily,” Okpebholo told the crowd.
He criticized outgoing Governor Godwin Obaseki’s neglect of state road infrastructure, describing the roads as being in a “very bad state” since former Governor Adams Oshiomhole left office in 2016.
“Our people have been subjected to avoidable untold hardship. Our infrastructures are in a sorry state, and nothing seems to be working. It is as if Edo State has not had a governor since Oshiomhole left office.”
Okpebholo promised to:
– Address deteriorated infrastructure, particularly roads
– Bring relief and solutions to Edo residents
– Partner with the federal government to repair federal roads
“We will not give you any excuse for failure, and we will not fail, by God’s grace and mercy. You voted for us to produce solutions.”
Okpebholo vowed to start work immediately on state roads, ensuring a smoother journey for residents.
“When next I am coming to Auchi, God willing, it will be on a smooth, wide, and good road.”
With his deputy, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, Okpebholo is eager to bring much-needed relief to Edo residents, marking a departure from the current administration’s alleged focus on political grandstanding.
