Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has issued a heartfelt appreciation to the people of Benue for their peaceful and orderly conduct during the recently concluded Local Government elections. The governor commended the citizens for their active participation and overwhelming support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates, describing the election’s successful outcome as a reflection of the state’s maturity in democratic processes.
In a statement, Governor Alia said, “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your active participation in the recent Local Government elections across our 23 Local Governments. Your commitment to exercising your franchise in a peaceful and civil manner is commendable and reflects the maturity of our democracy.”
The governor emphasized that the support for APC candidates indicates the people’s recognition of his administration’s direction and vision for the state. He assured the citizens of his commitment to delivering on his social contract, promising to build a prosperous Benue where every citizen can thrive.
Governor Alia congratulated the winners and urged those who lost to join hands with the winners and his administration to ensure the state achieves greatness.
This development follows Governor Alia’s previous appreciation to the Benue people for not joining the nationwide protest, praising the organized labor, trade unions, civil society organizations, youth, and other groups for keeping to their word.
