Gov. Alia Declares Friday Work-Free Day for Local Government Elections

 

Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia has officially declared Friday, October 4th, 2024, as a work-free day.

He said that the declaration was necessitated by his desire to give the electorate of Benue State ample opportunity to travel to their respective local government areas in preparation for the forthcoming Local Government elections scheduled for Saturday, October 5, 2024.

His Excellency emphasized the importance of active participation in the electoral process and encouraged all citizens to take advantage of this work-free day to exercise their civic duty.

According to Tersoo Kula, Chief Press Secretary, Governor Alia expressed confidence that with the right commitment and participation, the elections will be conducted smoothly and fairly.

The Governor further urged all public and private sector organizations to support the initiative by allowing their employees to utilize this day for travel and preparation.

He also charged the citizens to prioritize peaceful conduct and collaboration during the elections, reinforcing the need for unity and cooperation among all parties involved.
