The Government of Akwa Ibom State has announced the sudden passing of Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, wife of the Executive Governor, Pastor Umo Eno. In a statement released by Honourable Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ini Ememobong, the family expressed their deep grief.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of… Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, following an illness,” the statement read. She passed away peacefully at the hospital on September 26, 2024, surrounded by her family.
The family submitted to God’s will, saying, “The family submits to the will of the Almighty and asks for the prayers and support of kind-hearted individuals during this difficult time.” They requested privacy as they mourn the loss of a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.
Governor Umo Eno appreciated the support and solidarity shown by citizens, assuring the people of Akwa Ibom State, “Despite this huge personal loss, his commitment to the service of the state is unwavering.”
The family will announce burial arrangements and other details in due course. The statement concluded, “Further details will be provided by the family as necessary.”
