The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kano State Command has confirmed a tragic incident involving the death of five police officers.
The officers were returning from Edo State, where the governorship election was recently held, when their vehicle was involved in a fatal road crash.
According to FRSC spokesperson Abdullahi Labaran, ten other individuals sustained injuries in the crash.
Preliminary investigations revealed that excessive speeding was the cause of the accident.
The driver lost control of the bus, which crashed into a stationary trailer on the Kano-Zaria Road, near Karfi Village.
FRSC Sector Commander Ahmed Mohammed responded to the incident, cautioning drivers against the dangers of excessive speeding, overloading, and other traffic violations.
He emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic regulations to prevent further loss of life on the nation’s roads.
