Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has reaffirmed the scheduled second phase of nationwide protests, tagged #FearlessInOctober, against acute hunger, poverty, and bad governance under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Sowore, a former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) party, emphasized that the protests are not exclusively for Generation Z (Gen Z) but encompass all ages. The movement, championed by Nigerians fed up with bad governance in Nigeria and Africa, rallies behind the flag of “A New Pan-Africanism.”
The protests aim to address the pressing issues facing Nigeria, including:
<span;>- *Acute Hunger*: Widespread food insecurity affecting millions of Nigerians
<span;>- *Poverty*: Rising poverty rates despite government initiatives ¹
<span;>- *Bad Governance*: Perceived ineptitude and corruption within the current administration
Sowore’s call to action seeks to unite Nigerians across generations, urging them to demand change and a better future for the country.
As the protests gear up, Nigerians are bracing themselves for a pivotal moment in the nation’s history. Will #FearlessInOctober bring about the desired change? Only time will tell.
