Former Nigerian Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan will join other distinguished guests at the African Leadership Biblical Initiative (ABLI) conference in Abuja. The five-day event, themed “Value-Based Leadership: Model for Africa,” aims to promote leadership grounded in biblical principles.
Pastor Samuel Sanusi, General Secretary of the Bible Society of Nigeria, announced that Obasanjo will chair the conference, scheduled for October 21-24, 2024. The ABLI Forum seeks to foster personal and cultural transformation through value-based leadership.
Sanusi emphasized the need for African leaders to embrace integrity, honesty, and transparency, citing the continent’s struggles with poverty, greed, and corruption. He urged leaders to reject these vices and work towards advancing Africa’s development.
The conference will feature keynote speakers, including former South African Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng and Dr. Zienzi Dillon, founder of Carmel Global Capital. Plenary speakers will address themes such as social harmony, justice, integrity, and wisdom.
A youth assembly session, “Arise and Shine: Raising a New Generation of Transformational Leaders,” will feature addresses by Pastor Poju Oyemade and Dr. Vishal Mangalwadi. Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, will be the special guest of honor, with Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike as the Chief Host.
