The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Benue State Chapter has dismissed the purported dissolution of its State Executive Committee by the National Executive Committee (EXCO) of the party. In a public announcement, the state chapter leadership described the action as unconstitutional and against the party’s constitution.
The state chapter argued that the National Working Committee (NWC) does not have the power to dissolve a duly constituted State Executive Committee up to the ward level. They emphasized that the action of the NWC is null and void and urged all ward and local government executives to continue with their duties.
The Benue State Chapter leadership vowed to challenge the dissolution adequately and remain committed to the party’s principles, despite the distraction caused by a few members of the NWC.
