A shocking crime has come to light in Ikorodu, Lagos, where a man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his friend, Christiannah Idowu, and burying her in his compound. The victim was declared missing on August 19, 2024, after her parents received a ransom demand from her abductors.
Investigations by intelligence operatives revealed that the suspect, who had a mutual relationship with Christiannah on social media, had laundered money from her account into his own betting account. Further evidence, including the victim’s phone and incriminating text messages, was found on the suspect’s phone.
The suspect was arrested on August 29, 2024, and has since confessed to the crime, revealing that he killed Christiannah and buried her in his compound. Disturbingly, there are allegations that this is not the suspect’s first offense, with reports of similar incidents involving his ex-girlfriend and biological sister in 2018 and 2020, respectively.
