BREAKING: Wike Faces ARREST as IGP Egbetokun Gets Order from Former Federal Commissioner

A former Federal Commissioner for Information, Edwin Clark, has written a letter to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, urging the immediate arrest and prosecution of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

Clark’s letter comes after Wike’s recent remarks, where he threatened to incite violence against PDP governors who interfere in party matters in Rivers State.

During a press briefing at his residence in Asokoro, Clark expressed concerns over Wike’s statements, made at the PDP secretariat in Port Harcourt.

Wike had said, “Let me assure all of you, not while we live will anybody take away the structure of the PDP from us. But let me tell people, I hear some governors who say they will take over the structure and give it back to somebody. I pity those governors because I will put fire in their states. When God has given you peace, you say you don’t want peace – anything you see, you take.”

Clark described Wike’s remarks as “blatant disrespect” towards President Bola Tinubu and characterized them as “unrestrained” and treasonous, with the potential to incite violence.

He noted that similar offenses had led to the detention of Omoyele Sowore and #EndBadGovernance protesters. Clark emphasized that the Inspector General of Police should take equivalent action against Wike and compel him to retract his statements.
