Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists attacked Faudiya Islamic boarding school in Geidam, Yobe state, killing three students and injuring one.
The attack occurred at 4am on August 30, with the attackers arriving on motorcycles and armed with AK47 rifles.
The school, belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood Movement (Shi’ites), was invaded, resulting in the deaths of Muhammadu Saleh, 22, Ahmed Abdulrahman, 21, and Abdullahi Adamu, 21. Sani Haruna, 25, was injured and is receiving medical treatment at Geidam Specialists Hospital.
DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, spokesperson for the state police command, confirmed the incident, stating that police responded to the distress call and discovered the casualties.
The attack on the Islamic school has raised concerns about the safety of students and the ongoing threat of Boko Haram in the region.
