The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State has debunked claims by Mr. Philip Agbese that the party conducted Local Government and Ward congresses to nominate candidates for the forthcoming Local Government elections in the state.
In a statement, the party clarified that no primaries were conducted, and the caretaker committee has not commenced the sale of nomination and declaration of interest forms for aspirants.
The statement also emphasized that Governor Hyacinth Alia, the leader of APC in Benue State, presided over the State Executive Committee (SEC) meeting that ratified the suspension of the former state chairman, Mr. Austin Agada, and therefore cannot collaborate with him on any official party function.
The party described Mr. Philip Agbese as a known fabricator of falsehood and advised the public to disregard his statements. Governor Alia remains focused on delivering on his mandate and will not be distracted by joining issues with Agbese and his sponsors.
The APC in Benue State urged the public to ignore Agbese’s mischievous statement and devious opinions, reiterating its commitment to transparency and accountability in its activities.
