Nigerian singer Jaywon has expressed his disappointment with Senator Sunday Karimi’s performance in office, citing a lack of tangible achievements in his constituency after eight years. In an Instagram post, Jaywon lamented the absence of progress in Karimi’s hometown of Egbe, Kogi State, despite the Senator’s claims of representing his people.
Jaywon highlighted the struggles faced by the community, including the abandonment of a promised power plant project and deteriorating infrastructure, such as poorly maintained roads. He recalled a time when Egbe had better infrastructure, contrasting it with the current state of disrepair under Karimi’s watch.
The singer’s criticism comes after Senator Karimi defended the N160m vehicle purchase for senators, citing the need to navigate Nigeria’s bad roads. However, Jaywon’s account echoes Karimi’s assertion, emphasizing the poor state of roads in the constituency.
Jaywon called for an end to bad governance, advocating for leadership that truly serves the people and brings about meaningful change. His statement underscores the need for accountability and transparency in governance, highlighting the disconnect between Senator Karimi’s actions and the needs of his constituency.
