National Rescue Movement Blames Selfish Traders for Escalating Inflation, Not President Tinubu

The National Rescue Movement (NRM) has absolved President Bola Tinubu of blame for the rising cost of living and inflation in the country, instead attributing it to selfish traders and business owners taking advantage of the economic crisis.

National Chairman of the NRM, Isaac Udeh, made this statement in an exclusive interview with our correspondent in Abuja on Thursday. He acknowledged the hardship faced by the masses due to economic policies implemented by the Tinubu administration but emphasized that greedy individuals are exacerbating the situation.

Udeh called for a review of the president’s policies to prioritize the people’s needs and suggested summoning a meeting with the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria to address food security concerns. He urged experts to remedy the causes of rising food prices, particularly for bread and pasta.

While acknowledging the president’s responsibility in addressing the crisis, Udeh emphasized that the masses also share some culpability in the hardship, citing the example of constantly increasing prices for essential items. He appealed for sincerity and a collaborative approach to resolving the economic challenges.
