Tinubu Inaugurates Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council in Imo State

 

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday inaugurated the Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council in Owerri, Imo State. The Oni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, was elected as the Chairman of the council, with Obi of Obinugwu, Cletus Illomuanya, and King Jaja of Opopo, Dandeson Jaja, as co-chairmen. Benjamin Ikenchuku Keagborekuzi 1, Dein of Agbor, was appointed as the secretary.

Representing President Tinubu, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume praised the traditional rulers for their cultural significance and role in promoting national unity. He emphasized the President’s respect for the institution and his commitment to supporting their efforts.

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, who hosted the event, urged the council members to engage with their Northern counterparts to foster unity and support the Federal Government’s initiatives. He commended President Tinubu’s efforts to drive economic growth and development in Nigeria.

The inauguration marks a significant step towards promoting cultural heritage and unity among traditional rulers in Southern Nigeria. The council is expected to play a vital role in advancing the region’s interests and contributing to national development.
