The House of Representatives Committee on Federal Character has issued a summons to the Director General of the Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dayo Mobereola, to appear before it after he failed to show up for an investigative hearing on Wednesday.
The committee is conducting an investigation into certain matters related to NIMASA’s activities, and Mobereola’s presence was required to provide clarifications and answers to certain questions. However, his absence sparked the committee’s decision to summon him to appear before it.
The summons requires Mobereola to appear before the committee on a date to be determined, to provide the required information and testimony. The committee’s move is aimed at ensuring that NIMASA operates in accordance with the federal character principle and that any issues or irregularities are addressed.
