Obaseki Inaugurates 20-Member Transition Committee to Ensure Smooth Handover in Edo State

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, on Thursday, established a 20-member transition committee to facilitate a seamless transfer of power and knowledge to the next administration. With four months remaining in his tenure, Obaseki inaugurated the committee, chaired by former Finance Commissioner Joseph Eboigbe, at the EXCO Chambers in Government House, Benin City.

The governor emphasized the importance of documenting his administration’s achievements over the past eight years, following global best practices. The committee’s tasks include retrieving and organizing documents related to policy decisions, contracts, and executive council decisions, creating a digital data room for easy access.

Obaseki stressed the significance of preserving institutional memory for future administrations, ensuring continuity and informed decision-making. The committee’s work will provide a comprehensive legacy document, showcasing the administration’s accomplishments and lessons learned.
