Former Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, met with President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, to discuss the proposed Agritech Hub in Ghana.
The Agritech Hub, designed as a Pan-African center of excellence for tech-enabled agriculture, will benefit from Ghana’s Planting for Food and Jobs and E-Agric programmes, while also leveraging the country’s status as the headquarters of the African Continental Free Trade Area.
The proposed agritech hub is a part of the Timbuktoo Africa Innovation Fund, which aims to support the African innovation ecosystem. Osinbajo highlighted Akufo-Addo’s commitment to support the fund’s work and commended Ghana’s role in leveraging its strategic position for this endeavor.
