Commission of Inquiry Demands Documents on Sale of Benue State Assets

The Commission of Inquiry into the sale and lease of government assets, companies, markets, and moribund companies in Benue State has requested Benue Links Nigeria Limited to submit documents supporting the sales of state-owned property in Ilorin, Lagos, and Edo State. The commission also seeks documents related to the sales of unserviceable buses.

At today’s sitting, the General Manager of Benue Links Nigeria Limited, Alexander Fanafa, appeared before the commission to account for the sales. Similarly, the Permanent Secretary of the Bureau of Internal Affairs was asked to provide documents supporting the sales of over 10 unserviceable buses.

Additionally, the commission heard a petition from Senior Pastor Adakole Joe of Finger of God Spirit and Power Ministry against former Deputy Governor Benson Abounu regarding a disputed land lease in Otukpo.

The commission, chaired by Honorable Justice Apollos Paul Idi (RTD), adjourned the matters to a later date to allow for the submission of additional documents and the invitation of other individuals mentioned in the matters to give their accounts.
