The National President of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), Kabiru Minjibir has urged the federal and state governments to involve labour leaders in key positions.
Minjibir who doubles as the National Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), made this call during a courtesy visit from Kogi State’s Special Adviser on Labour, Comrade Onuh Edoka.
Edoka’s visit addressed allegations of non-payment of the N30,000 minimum wage in Kogi State.
In the words of Edoka:
“The N30,000 minimum wage was a matter of confusion coming from somewhere. Kogi state is paying the same N30,000 minimum wage across the board to all workers.”
He assured that the state government’s hostile relationship with labour unions is now a thing of the past.
“The issue of hostile relationship between the Kogi state government and Labour unions have become a thing of the past,” Edoka said.
