Former Governor Nasir El-Rufai has filed a lawsuit against the Kaduna State House of Assembly, challenging the committee’s report that accused his administration of embezzling N432 billion and leaving the state with significant debt obligations.
El-Rufai alleged that the committee denied him a fair hearing and is seeking a declaration that the report is null and void for violating his right to a fair hearing. The lawsuit was filed at the Federal High Court in Kaduna, with El-Rufai appearing in person. His lawyer, Abdulhakeem Mustapha, contested the committee’s report, which accused El-Rufai of corruption.
The case highlights the ongoing dispute between El-Rufai and the Kaduna State House of Assembly over the allegations.
