The Benue State Police Command has arrested six suspects for kidnapping and fraud, rescuing nine kidnap victims in the process.
According to a statement by the command’s spokesperson, Catherine Anene, three of the suspects were kidnappers and three were fraudsters. The kidnappers, identified as Saleh Hassan, Yakubu Alhaji Kande, and Yunusa Idris, were responsible for the kidnap of passengers from a Benue Links vehicle, resulting in the death of the driver.
The fraudsters, Philip Matthew, Haribu Jafai, and John Ode Arubi, were arrested with items including iPhones, laptops, ATM cards, and live ammunition. The police command’s efforts have led to the rescue of nine kidnap victims and the apprehension of six suspects, ensuring a safer Benue State.
