Headline: Police Deploy Officers, Assets to Foil Alleged Bandits’ Invasion in Abuja

The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory, Benneth Igweh, has deployed officers and assets across Abuja to counter an alleged planned invasion by bandits. The deployment follows a WhatsApp message circulating on Sunday and Monday, warning of a bandit group led by Ardo, a sub-commander of notorious leader Boderi Yellow mai One Million, moving from Kweri forest in Kagarko, Kaduna State, towards Gauraka/Kubwa Hills in the FCT.

The message included a photo of Inusa Lawal, an 18-year-old escapee from the bandits’ camp, who was kidnapped in Ushafa along with others on May 19, 2024. Lawal escaped from captivity on June 2, 2024, at around 06:00hrs.

The police commissioner’s swift action aims to prevent any potential attack and ensure the safety of residents in the FCT. The deployment of officers and assets is a proactive measure to counter the alleged threat and maintain law and order in the capital city.
