A total number of 64,624 candidates who took part in the 2024 Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination (UTME) have had thier results withheld, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB has announced.
Apparently, the 64,624 results withheld represent 3.4% of the 1,904,189 candidates who took the UTME in 2024.
It was explained by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Registrar, Prof. Ishak Oloyede, that the UTME results were withheld because they were subjected to investigation.
It was further disclosed by the jamb registrar that 1,989,668 registered, and 80,810 candidates were absent.
Oloyede also added that only 1,904,189 candidates sat for the UTME exercise within six days of the examination.
According to the board, the reasons for withholding the results were verification, alleged examination misconduct, procedural investigation of candidates, and centre-based investigation.
Today, the board is releasing the results of 1,842,464 candidates. The 64,624 results are under investigation for verification, procedural investigation of candidates, centre-based investigation and alleged examination misconduct,” Oloyede stated.
