The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Olanipekun Olukoyede, has vehemently condemned the actions of former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, stating that he would rather relinquish his position than fail to see the alleged corruption case against Bello to its culmination.
Olukoyede revealed that, as a mark of respect, he personally placed a direct call to the former governor, inviting him to present himself at the commission to respond to the allegations, but Bello declined the invitation.
Instead, Bello reportedly requested that the EFCC agents come to his village to effect his arrest, a demand that Olukoyede deemed unacceptable.
The EFCC Chairman emphasized that anyone who attempts to hinder or obstruct the arrest of the former governor will face the full weight of justice.”
