Reply To Terver Akase

Technical Adviser to the Benue state governor on Media Publicity and strategic communication.

“Terver Akase my dear brother, I hope this write up meets you well.

I’ll address you directly on this matter because it’s your misunderstanding of a statement by my colleague, the CPS, (which by the way is in reference to, and not a quotation) that has triggered this discourse.

The bible says ‘the wicked flee when no one pursues…'(Prov. 28:1.) Could this be what you are doing? Because I don’t see any connection to you in particular in all the discourse of His Excellency as Portrayed by the CPS. I have looked at the write up in 10 different directions to see if there is any reference to your principal but I can’t find. Or are you saying it’s ONLY your principal that has been the governor of Benue state? If my principal, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia says, he understands the state has an aeroplane but it’s whereabouts is been looked into, does he mean it’s your principal that bought it?

If you have a confession to make, I think you should just come out plainly and tell Benue people. Are you saying a plane was bought on paper or it was paid for but never arrived Benue, my dear brother? Because from the statement as referred to by the CPS, it could have been as far back as Aper Aku that the plane was bought.

So my dear brother and predecessor Terver Akase , except there is another part of this speech I haven’t seen or heard, the only person Benue people need to hear from is you. They should be told why you are reacting as though you have something to hide.

Also, the governor as you said rightly is the image maker of the state and in his assessment, like any other reasonable image maker, the looks of the state do not represent it’s status, if any other governor before him had seen it in the same light, the state would have been different and we won’t be having this discussion. So stating the matter as it is, is not branding it backwards, it is rather identifying the problems. And you know that a problem identified, is a problem half solved.

Plus, if His Excellency my principal had Identified the problem and left it at that, then you will be blaming him as a bad image maker, but he is taking the right steps in the right direction as you can see in the many infrastructure developments going on. So you see my brother, rather than brand the state “backward and poorly” he is taking the state where he knows it should have been in the first place.”
