Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos has handed down a six-month jail sentence to Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, without the option of a fine.
The verdict was delivered on the morning of Friday, April 12.
The charges against Bobrisky, including Abuse of the Naira and Money laundering, were brought by the EFCC and he was arraigned in court on April 5.
Although the money laundering charges were dismissed, he admitted to Naira Abuse, leading to his conviction.
Following the judgement, he was ordered to be held in EFCC detention in Lagos.
Initially, the court had scheduled the hearing for April 9, but it was postponed due to the Eid-Fitri public holiday from April 9 to April 11.
