Retired Justice Ahmad Olanrewaju Belgore, a former Justice of the Court of Appeal, has passed away.
The news of his death was announced by Kamaldeen Gambari, Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association, Ilorin Branch, Kwara State, on Tuesday.
Gambari conveyed the news via a social media post.
Belgore retired from the Court of Appeal on April 18, 2023, upon reaching the retirement age of 70.
In a condolence message, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, described Justice Belgore’s demise as a significant loss to the Ilorin Emirate and the nation at large.
The Emir, in a statement released by his spokesman, Abdulazeez Arowona, expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Justice Belgore, highlighting his outstanding qualities as a judicial officer and his contributions to the judiciary and humanity.
He extended his condolences to the immediate and extended family members of the deceased, as well as to the people of Ilorin and Nigerians nationwide.
