The Ag.Chairman, Benue State Internal Revenue Service,Mr.Emmanuel Agema FCTI,ASCON,CNA has observed with dismay, the nefarious activities of Racketeers and hoodlums who operates illegal checkpoints particularly at Akerior in Ushongo Local government Area of Benue State.
He warns against the illicit behavior portrayed by those hoodlums who have recently been seen and reported extorting and harassing vehicles of National Emergency Management Agency(NEMA) carrying palliatives for the state.He frowns at the deliberate efforts of those hoodlums frustrating the efforts of NEMA in bringing palliatives to the state.
The Tax Boss emphatically states that, those caught operating illegal Roadblocks in the state especially that of Akerior will be immediately arrested and shall face the full wrath of the law as Criminals and enemies of the State.
The Chairman has again reiterated his resolve to eradicate illegal checkpoint operators in the state. Adding that, these racketeers dent the image of the state, distort and impede economic activities, pose as a threat to security of Benue People and cause untold sufferings to motorist, businessmen and farmers in the state.
He assures that, his team of security operatives will work diligently, day and night to ensure that these criminals are caught and punished according to the law. He calls on all Benue Citizens to be vigilant and report such cases to the service and security agencies in the state for proper actions.
