The Chief Medical Director of the Benue State University Teaching Hospital Makurdi, Dr. Stephen Terungwa Hwande has promised to revamp and restructure the School of Health Information, and that of Bio medical Engineering.
Dr. Hwande made the promise on Friday 22/3/2024 at the Conference Hall of the hospital during a meeting with staff and students of the schools and stated that Management of the Hospital decided to redeemed the image of the schools so that they would measure up with the standard of such schools globally.
He called on the management, lecturers and other staff to hit the ground running and assured that he would do everything for the schools to succeed.
Dr Hwande explained that the two schools in addition to the soon to take off Community Health Officers training school would be headed by a Provost, supported by qualified professionals as heads of the respective schools.
He directed a review of all financial transactions and academic records of students in order to ensure that the records of each students were clear and straight forward, going forward.
In their separate remarks, the Deputy Chairman Medical Advisory Committee, Dr. Terkimbi Annongu, Director of Administration, Mr. Terkaa Luga, Director of Finance, Mr. Michael Abah and the Deputy Director of Audit, Mr. Daniel Pever, all assured of the cooperation of their respective departments for the success of the schools.
The Provost in charge of the schools, Dr. James T. Ihongo, appreciated the management of the hospital for finding them worthy of the noble task and promised that the schools under his leadership would succeed.
The Representative of Biomedical students, Enokela Pius and that of Health Information, Miss. Franka John, all appreciated the CMD for the initiatives to turn around the fortunes of the schools.
