An Instagram user identified as Cole has been apprehended at the Lugbe area of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, following his issuance of a death threat via his Instagram handle, “1billionsecretss,” while responding to a story shared by the popular Instagram blogger, Instablog9ja, on February 1, 2024.
The post by Instablog9ja highlighted allegations of money laundering for terrorists by a religious sect, with the EFCC Chairman being implicated in tracing N7 billion fraud proceeds to another religious group.
In his comment on Instablog9ja, Cole ominously stated, “EFCC Chairman will be dead in six months,” adding, “He will be dead in six months. This man will be dead in 6 months remember I said it.”
During interrogation, Cole confessed that he made the threatening remarks solely to gain attention or “chase clout.”
Authorities will hand him over to the appropriate agencies for further investigation and legal proceedings.
