Oju Local Government Caretaker Committee Chairman, Hon.(Mrs) Ire Aburi Christiana,JP, has felicitated with the executive Gov. of Benue state, His Excellency Rev. Fr. Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for his meritorious award by the management of the Leadership Newspaper, as “the Governor of the Year 2023” on Tuesday, 5th March,2024 in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Hon. Aburi who remarked that the award was timely and well deserved poured encomiums on the management of the Newspaper House for their fair choice of Governor Alia of Benue State for the award
According to the Chairman, Gov. Alia has executed so many projects which includes amongst others; Prioritization of payment of workers salaries on or before 25th of every month with the promise to pay December salaries on the 15th, construction of several township roads, installation of Street lights in the State Capital, Makurdi, procurement of 100 hummer buses for Benue Links Ltd, award of construction of flyover at High level Market roundabout in Makurdi and Tilley Gyado Junction flyover in Gboko local government and several other projects
Hon. Mrs. Aburi maintained that the Rev. Gentleman also scrutinized the Civil Service system in the state and weeded out thousands of ghost workers an exercise which will save over 1.2billion Naira monthly for the State.
She disclosed that massive projects are already on ground at both the local and the State Level which, according to him, will bring succor to the Benue people after execution
She further commended the Leadership Newspaper for living up to the mandate of watchdog of the society by recongnising the Rev Gentleman out of many for the honor.
She prayed God to continue to give His Excellency Rev. Fr. Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia the strength and the spiritual wisdom to continue the template of his transformative achievements which targets the retaintion of hope, improvement of human livelihood and to rekindle the spirit of patriotism and Nationalism in Benue State.
