Troops of the Nigerian Army have killed a notorious terrorist leader, Maikusa, who is reported to be the second-in-command in the hierarchy of terrorists in Katsina State, under the leadership of another terrorist known as Modi Modi.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Director, Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the soldiers gunned down Maikusa alongside three other terrorists in a shootout on Monday, March 4 2024, during a counter insurgency operation in Kurfi and Safana Local Government Areas of the state.
The statement partly read, “During the operation, troops encountered vehement resistance from the violent extremists, but gallantly overpowered the terrorists with superior firepower neutralising some while others fled in disarray.
