Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has reacted to the establishment of a 188-megawatt power generating plant by Geometrics Power Limited in Abia State.
The plant is geared towards supplying electricity to seven to eight local government areas.
Adelabu says the government has procured 10 mobile power substations capable of being deployed to areas facing challenges or disruptions. Encouraging involvement in distribution networks, the minister provided guidance to enhance the effectiveness of power supply initiatives at the state level.
“They enjoy a 24-hour power supply; this is what we want states to also adopt. It might look difficult, but with tenacity and if we endure, it is achievable,” he said.
