The Benue state police command has paraded the killers of a youth corp member identified as Chioma Emmanuel along Makurdi-Naka road.
The criminals Oryina Terzungwe and Philip Tyôher were arrested at their hideout at Adeke village in Makurdi
The police also paraded 11 other criminals in the state for committing various criminal offences ranging from kidnapping, robbery and manufacturing of arms.
Commissioner of police, Emmanuel Adesina disclosed this during a press briefing in Makurdi on Wednesday.
CP Adesina revealed that in February 21st 2024, the operation Zenda joint Task force was deployed to rescue a kidnapped victim who according to him was abducted at Asase 1, North Bank Makurdi and arrested two suspects; Moses Ayua and Samson Azua in their hideout at Abua Village, Kilometer 16 Makurdi, Gboko road Benue state where the victims were held hostage.
He further disclosed that 3 suspects who specialised in arms dealing including one Ebuka Chukwu of Onitcha in Anambera state was arrested in Agu , Vandeikya Local Government Area and three locally made barrestal pistols were recovered from him explaining that the suspect led the team to the hideout of his suppliers; Wuese Tyav and Terkuma Tyav in Adikpo, Kwande local government area who specialise in fabricating guns.
CP Adesina said two suspects; Vanen Mnyim and Terseer Adera both of Ngenev in Ukum LGA are under police custody in connection to the case of arm bandatory led by one Cheen and Iorpuu Ayangeer who blocked Tse Kpeese Nandyor Zaki Biam road and abducted a member of Benue state Volunteer Guard; Aôrnen Kpoor on the 24th of January this year.
While assuring travellers of their safety on the roads in Benue state, the police commissioner called on the people to always furnish the police with useful information to the arrest of criminals said all suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.
